Barracão
( Edson Papo Furado)
Furei o zinco do meu barracão
Para fazer uma goteira
No meu quarto de deitar
Também mandei colocar Uma bacia no chão
Para ver, pingo d’agua jorrar
Para ver, pingo d’agua jorrar
Furei o zinco do meu barracão
Para fazer uma goteira
No meu quarto de deitar
Também mandei colocar
Uma bacia no chão
Para ver pingo d’agua chorar
Para ver, pingo d’agua chorar
Olha ai vem de volta pingo d’agua
Não lamente as minhas magoas
Faça a tua sinfonia
Para fazer a nostalgia
Dentro do meu coração
Vem de volta pingo d’agua
Dono do meu barracão
From a crossover of artists from Brazil, Europe and Africa emerges ‘Barracão’, which is an ancestral force, it's samba, ijexá, congo and any other manifestation from the state of Espírito Santo in Brazil that travels the world. ‘Barracão’ is the tradition that is renewed in electronic music and finds itself.
It is the dark soul of the artist Fabio Carvalho, who absorbs the humid melody of master samba player Edson Papo Furado. Barracão is a unique work in “variation form”. Five readings of a samba give a portrait of a diversity put into practice. What moves are the possibilities of listening and dancing.
Barracão looks like a Ticumbi drama, where music happens in its own ways: whether in the melancholic ambiance of a lounge, where the post-modern organum by French producer Infrared plays; whether in the primitivist minimalism of Mogo Naaba from Togo; be it also in the polyrhythm of the Brazilian Gus What, aka Guga Prates, from which the ethos of joy seems to emerge, like bouncing drops; that is, in the restless Afro-Latinity of Fabio Carvalho, who synthesizes elements of the rhythms Brazilians in a dancing bolero.
Released in 2015 on the album 'QUINTAL - Afro Congo Beat', ‘Barracão’ is currently re-released with remixes and an instrumental version.

Fabio Carvalho search the oldest heritage of regional rhythms of the state of Espirito Santo - those with African roots
music and puts the beat of congo and ticumbi to talk to the beats of electronic music. The result is a precious and dance dialogue of traditional folk art with contemporary, very current fruit of cultural anthropophagy that marked the birth of Brazilian modernism....more
Bagunço explores three distinct traditional Brazilian rhythms: Maracatu, Galope and Frevo. The resulting mixture is then wrapped up in a Tropicalist Festive Jazz. Fabio Carvalho
André brings the fuzz of his guitar also in afrobeat, coco, afrofunk and Brazil - Africa fusions.
